27 Jun Jesus Is the Master Key to the Kingdom
Galatians 3:20-22 – Now an intermediary implies more than one, but God is one. Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law. But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
One of my summer jobs when I was a college student involved working at a hotel. I quickly found the job very difficult. Customers wanted me to drop off or pick up luggage in their room, fellow employees needed me to run into various storage areas for everything from towels to hair dryers. The job was barely manageable with all the running around, and then tourist season hit, and I could not possibly keep up with all the keys I had to get to do my job. So, I talked to my supervisor to explain my problem. They said, “Didn’t we give you a master key when you got hired?”. I said, “no”. I was then given a master key that opened every room in the hotel and that one thing fixed everything.
When it comes to the Kingdom of God, you can do one of two things. One, you can try and figure out everything that God has available to you and try and figure out how to make each one happen – e.g. forgiveness of sin, adoption into God’s family, lifted burden, assurance of eternal life, and various other blessings. Two, you can believe in Jesus Christ. Faith in Jesus is the master key to the Kingdom of God. Faith in Jesus unlocks all of God’s promises and blessings. How amazing is that? All you need is Jesus and He is the key to everything.
Do you have faith in Jesus Christ? Who do you know that you should invite to church so they can hopefully come to have faith in Jesus Christ?
